Who?

Julie Chavey, Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist

Julie began to discover the power of her own mind when she quit smoking through the use of hypnosis. Since then, she has gone on to obtain her certification as a hypnotherapist through the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners and help others discover the influence of their own subconscious. She is also a certified member of the National Guild of Hypnotists. As a member, Atlanta Clinical Hypnotherapy adheres to the National Guild of Hypnotists Code of Ethics as outlined at the bottom of this page.

What?

What it is: A common definition of hypnosis is a wakeful state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, with diminished peripheral awareness. This means that you are relaxed and your conscious mind is at rest but you are awake and aware of the process.

What it isn’t: It is not a state of sleep that you “wake” from. You cannot be made to cluck like a chicken, sing Madonna songs or divulge your deepest secrets unless you choose to. A person must consent to hypnosis and be willing to participate in the process. A person cannot be hypnotized against his or her will.

Why?

Atlanta Clinical Hypnotherapy specializes in Smoking Cessation.

Hypnotherapy can be very helpful in dealing with a large variety of concerns.  While we specialize in smoking cessation, if you have another concern, please inquire. We may be able to refer you to a hypnotherapist who does specialize in the area you need addressed.

*** Note to current and past clients: we will take clients outside of the smoking cessation program on a referral-only basis.

How much?

Rates for Services

First time clients:

Bundled rate of $275 includes 2 visits (a total of between 2 1/2 and 3 hours)

Visit one (1 1/2 – 2 hours):  Consultation, discussing what hypnotherapy is, how it works, how it can best serve you, and how you can use it to help yourself even after our work together is finished. The main purpose of this visit is to gather information to personalize your hypnotherapy and make it most beneficial for you.

Visit two (1 - 1 1/2 hours): Hypnosis session (you will be provided a CD or MP3 recording of the hypnosis session to take home with you)

Follow up visits / return client visits are $90/hr.

The Code of Ethics of the National Guild Of Hypnotists

The National Guild Of Hypnotists requires its members to conform to the following ethical principles, and shall hold members accountable for any departure from these principles, which may include revocation of membership.

A. Client Welfare: Members shall make the physical and mental well-being of each client a prime consideration.

B. Client Safety: Members shall not engage in verbal, physical, or sexual abuse of any client.

C. Members shall use hypnotism strictly within the limits of their training and competence and in conformity to the laws of their state.

D. Practice Limits: Members shall be truthful in their advertising.

E. Credentials: Members shall always be honest about the nature of their titles and degrees when referring to them to the general public, the media, and within the confines of our profession.

F. Referred Practice: Members shall engage in hypnotic work with a client regarding a medical or mental disease only on written referral from an appropriately licensed medical or mental health professional, except when otherwise provided for by state law.

G. Reasonable Practice: Members shall withhold non-referred hypnotic services if a client's behavior, appearance, or statements would lead a reasonable person to believe that the client should be evaluated by a licensed health care professional. Members shall provide service to such clients only after evaluation and with the approval of the licensed health care professional.

H. Colleagues: Members shall treat hypnotist colleagues without public defamation.

Privacy:

Atlanta Clinical Hypnotherapy is committed to honoring your privacy.  All information provided by a client or inquiring potential client during the course of a consultation or session will be considered confidential.  Information gathered or used to assist a client in achieving his or her desire outcome will not be made available to any external party without consent.
